Live Stock Market Updates -Nifty, Sensex trading flat; Axis Bank gains by 3.5%

Nifty and Sensex trading flat as Metal and Telecom Index continue to fall. Bank and IT sector rise with Axis Bank and Tech Mahindra gaining over 3.5%.

At 1:46 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,373, up by 2 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,347, down by 3 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.09% at 16529.25 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 0.26% at 17622.14.

Cipla, Sun Pharma, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and Asian Paints are among the gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, HPCL, Vedanta Ltd, Reliance, and YES Bank are losing steam on NSE.

Some buying seen in IT, FMCG, Healthcare, and Teck sectors, whereas Metals, Telecom, Energy, Oil & Gasl sectors show weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is up by 2.54% at 13.57.

Out of 1,975 stocks traded on the NSE, 766 advanced, 864 declined, and 345 remained unchanged today.

A total of 56 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 18 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

TeamLease Services spurts 16% after acquiring stake in Schoolguru.
Tata Elxsi partners BlackBerry for embedded designs. Stock zooms 4%.
Maruti Suzuki total Oct production up 6.2% at 1.41 lakh units on yoy basis.
Hotel stocks gain on hopes of lower GST. Viceroy Hotels (+10%), TGB Banquets and Hotels (+2%), Asian Hotels West (+4%), Taj GVK Hotels (+3%).

        0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992. Barring IT sector being marginally up, all sectoral indices are in the red on BSE Sensex. At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 77 points at 31,738, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 29 points at 9,945 mark. Indiabulls Housing Finance was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 1,288.2 per share, up by 1.89% while Bharti Infratel was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 370.3 per share, down by 0.3%. There were 1,034 advances, 374 declines and 424 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive sentiments floating in the market. ITC, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are among the top contributors to the gains of Nifty and Sensex in the morning hours. Nifty50 has immediate resistance placed at the level of 9,940, followed by 9,980-10,000, and if it sustains above these levels, it may move higher up to the level of 10,080.
