Live Stock Market Updates -Nifty stable above 10,310 level, Vedanta gains by 3%



Nifty keeps its morning gains as the closing hour approaches. Strong push is given by Metal and Bank stocks, while IT stocks continue to fall. Vedanta gains by 3.3% to lead the metal stocks, while ICICI Bank and HDFC gain around 3% to push the banking index upwards.

At 1:57 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,446 up by 339 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,316 up by 101 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 1.20% at 16,701 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading higher by 1.17% at 17,667.

Some buying seen in Energy, FMCG, Finance, Healthcare, Metals, Industrials, and Bank sectors, while IT and Teck sectors show weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is down by 0.68% at 13.37.

Out of 1,983 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,213 advanced, 470 declined, and 300 remained unchanged today.

A total of 68 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 25 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Nifty Realty Index gains 4% as govt increases carpet area of houses under PMAY. HDIL (+9%), DLF (+7%), Indiabulls Real Estate (+5%).
ICICI Bank hits 3-yr high as Moody's upgrades India rating.
Ashok Leyland stock gains 3%; co to buy 4.7% more shares in arm.
Bank of Baroda stock climbs over 3% on fund raising plan.
HDFC Standard Life at day's high. Lists Rs 311 at 7% premium over issue price on BSE.
UCO Bank invites bids for sale of 17 NPAs worth Rs 1,869 Cr. Stock gains 5%.

        0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992. Barring IT sector being marginally up, all sectoral indices are in the red on BSE Sensex. At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 77 points at 31,738, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 29 points at 9,945 mark. Indiabulls Housing Finance was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 1,288.2 per share, up by 1.89% while Bharti Infratel was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 370.3 per share, down by 0.3%. There were 1,034 advances, 374 declines and 424 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive sentiments floating in the market. ITC, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are among the top contributors to the gains of Nifty and Sensex in the morning hours.
