Nifty trading at 10,340 level, PSU Banks shine

Nifty and Sensex are trading in the green on the back of the gains in Media and PSU Banks stocks. PNB and SBI gain 1.5% each to push the PSU Bank Index up, Zee Entertainment appreciated by 3.5% to lead the Media Index among sectoral indices.

At 2:15 PM, Sensex is trading at 33,587, up 108 points, while Nifty is trading at 10,350, up 23 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading lower by 0.25% at 16,751, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading at 17,847, up 0.19% .

On the BSE, Finance(+0.19%), Industrials(+0.32%), Auto(+0.33%) and Realty(+0.18%) sectors gained, while Energy(-0.39%), Healthcare(-0.52%), Utilities(-0.19%), Telecom(-0.79%), Power(-0.31%) and Metal(-0.78%) show weakness.

India Vix is trading higher by 2.88% at 14.11 level.

Among the 1,982 stocks being traded, 821 advanced, 825 declined and 336 remained unchanged.

A total of 81 stocks have touched 52-week high, while 15 stocks dipped to 52-week low since morning on the NSE.
 
Nifty PSU Bank gains 2%. PNB (+2.5%),SBI, Indian Bank (+2%), Canara Bank, BoB, Union Bank (+1%).
JP Associates stock falls as top court bars promoters from selling assets.

        0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992. At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 77 points at 31,738, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 29 points at 9,945 mark. Indiabulls Housing Finance was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 1,288.2 per share, up by 1.89% while Bharti Infratel was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 370.3 per share, down by 0.3%. There were 1,034 advances, 374 declines and 424 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive sentiments floating in the market. ITC, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are among the top contributors to the gains of Nifty and Sensex in the morning hours. Nifty50 has immediate resistance placed at the level of 9,940, followed by 9,980-10,000, and if it sustains above these levels, it may move higher up to the level of 10,080.
