BSE Realty index down over 3%

The BSE Realty index was lagging during Monday’s trade as the index was trading down by over 3%. Indiabulls Real Estate was the top loser and DLF was contributing most to the index losses with more than 27 points.

The BSE Realty index was trading at 2,125.13 level, down by 67.93 points or 3.10% as at 1221 hours on Monday. Indiabulls Real Estate was trading at Rs 233.70 per share, down by Rs 12.90 or 5.23%. DLF was down 4.48% at Rs 183.40 per share.

Among other realty majors, Housing Development and Infrastructure was trading down by 4.45% at Rs 61.25 per share, Prestige Estates Projects was down 2.22% at Rs 264, Godrej Properties was down 2.59% at Rs 580.80, Sobha Ltd. was down 0.89% at Rs 384.55 and The Phoenix Mills was trading down by 0.81% at Rs 515.50 per share. Whereas, Unitech and Omaxe were trading in the green territory.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 31,611.55 level, down by 280.68 points or 0.89%.

Opening Bell - Markets open higher; Eicher Motors top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 32 points at 31,694, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 28 points at 9,958 mark.   Eicher Motors is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 33,271.65 per share, up by 1.25% and Tata Power is top Nifty loser trading at Rs 77.05 per share, down by 0.39%. There are 957 advances, 424 declines and 459 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.   On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index is trading at 15,846 level, up by 0.15% while BSE Small-cap index is trading at 16,384 level, up by 0.28%.   The rupee opened at 63.88 per USD. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index ended at 6,398, up by 5 points, whereas the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 23 points to close at 21,785 and the S&P ended flat with a negative bias.   A majority of the Asian stock indices were trading in the positive territory in early trade on Friday.         0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992.
