Live Stock Market Updates – Market trades negative

Benchmark indices are trading with weak sentiments indicating a negative undertone dominating the market while broader market indices are trading in green.

Indiabulls Housing Finance is the top Nifty gainer trading up 1.85% at Rs 1245.10 per share.

Nifty Bank is trading with weak sentiments slipping in trade by 63 points at 24,370 level. Kotak Mahindra Bank is dragging the index down to trade in lower levels.

Meanwhile, Nifty Metal is the top index gainer among sectoral indices on NSE. The index gained 0.39% at 3556 level. Contributing majorly to the index gains NMDC is the top index gainer trading higher by 2.26% at Rs 135.50 per share.
 
On the contrary, JSW Steel is trading lower by 0.94% at Rs 254.25 per share.

At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,850 down 41 points, while Nifty is trading at 9964 down 10 points. A total of 52 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 23 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.19% at 15,716 while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.22% at 16,166 level.

Some buying activity is seen in Healthcare, Auto and Oil & Gas sectors, while FMCG, IT and Telecom indices are showing weakness on BSE.

Indiabulls Housing Finance, Coal India and BPCL are among the gainers while IOC, Adani Ports and SEZ and Ambuja Cements are losing on the NSE.

The INDIA VIX is up 8.6% at 12.6.

Opening Bell - Markets open higher; Eicher Motors top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 32 points at 31,694, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 28 points at 9,958 mark.   Eicher Motors is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 33,271.65 per share, up by 1.25% and Tata Power is top Nifty loser trading at Rs 77.05 per share, down by 0.39%. There are 957 advances, 424 declines and 459 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.   On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index is trading at 15,846 level, up by 0.15% while BSE Small-cap index is trading at 16,384 level, up by 0.28%.   The rupee opened at 63.88 per USD.         0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992. Barring IT sector being marginally up, all sectoral indices are in the red on BSE Sensex.
