Live Stock Market Updates – Nifty trades above 10,100; Sensex turns positive in closing hour
Nifty index is comfortably trading above the important mark of 10,100 in
the closing hour. Nifty Pharma index has been moving higher in the
afternoon hours. Dr Reddy’s is top gainer in the index trading at Rs
2,481.4 per share, up by Rs 166 per share or 7.2%. Cipla and Divi’s Lab
are also among the top gainers trading higher by more than 4%.
Other pharma stocks including Sun Pharma, Lupin, Cadila and Aurobindo Pharma are also trading higher by up to 3%.
At 3 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,406 up 5 points, while Nifty is trading at 10,130 down 10 points. A total of 53 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE. There are 623 advances, 1,013 declines and 324 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting negative undertone.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.17% at 16,071 and BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 0.37% at 16,809.
There is some buying activity seen in the pharma sector whereas all the other sectors are losing sheen in the morning trade.
Dr. Reddy’s Lab, Lupin, Cipla, Yes Bank and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers while Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment, Hindalco, Coal India and Indiabulls Housing Finance are losing on the NSE.
