Live Stock Market Updates - Sensex, Nifty range bound, Dr. Reddy, Tech Mahindra gain
The Indian equity stock market erased its morning gains as investors await second-quarter earnings season that will begin tomorrow with South Indian Bank.
The Nifty hit its highest intraday level in more than two weeks in morning trade. The Nifty pared gains after crossing the psychologically important 10,000 mark in morning trade.
At 12:28 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,781 down by 9 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,974 down by 5 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.03% at 15834 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.5% at 16716.
Dr Reddy's, Bajaj Finance, Coal India, Ultra Cement and Induslnd Bank are among the gainers, whereas PowerGrid, Aurobindo Pharma, GAIL, HPCL, ONGC, and BPCL are losing sheen on NSE.
JSPL gets Rs 1,121 Cr on divestment of oxygen plant assets at Angul & Raigarh units. Stock zooms 4.5%.
Jewellers stocks gain as norms for buying jewelry above Rs 50,000 relaxed. TBZ, Thangamayil Jewellery (+5%), Titan (+4%), Gitanjali (+3%).
Kalpataru Power's stock gains 2% on announcement of new order win.
SPARC stock falls 8% most in over two years as phase III study of Baclofen GRS fails to meet end points.
Tata Teleservices stock tanks 13% on reports that the company is likely to wind down operations in phases, and had discussions with the govt.
Some buying activity is seen in basic materials, consumer goods, finance, industrials and IT sectors, while energy, Telecom, Auto, Metal and Power are showing weakness on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 2.90% at 11.4400.
Out of 1,871 stocks traded on the NSE, 671 declined, 940 advanced and 369 remained unchanged today.
A total of 83 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 29 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
