Live Stock Market Updates - Nifty hovers around 10,450 mark; ONGC gains by 4%




Nifty and Sensex are trading flat as strong gains from Auto and Reality sectors get subdued by weak Energy, Finance, and Metal stocks. Auto sector gains with Tata Motors leading the index by appreciating nearly 3.7%. Oil & Gas sector lead by ONGC gaining by over 4%.

At 12:35 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,715, up by 29 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,451 down by 1 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.51% at 16,798.64 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.66% at 17,973.96.

Infratel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Aurobindo Pharma, Maruti, and ONGC are among the gainers, whereas Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharti Airtel, Indian Oil, HPCL, and BPCL are losing steam on NSE.

Some buying seen in Auto, Reality and Consumer Durables sectors, whereas Energy, Finance, Telecom, and Metals sectors show weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is up by 6.63% at 12.70.

Out of 2,006 stocks traded on the NSE, 942 advanced, 715 declined, and 349 remained unchanged today.

A total of 97 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 15 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Opening Bell - Markets open higher; Eicher Motors top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 32 points at 31,694, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 28 points at 9,958 mark.   Eicher Motors is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 33,271.65 per share, up by 1.25% and Tata Power is top Nifty loser trading at Rs 77.05 per share, down by 0.39%. There are 957 advances, 424 declines and 459 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.   On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index is trading at 15,846 level, up by 0.15% while BSE Small-cap index is trading at 16,384 level, up by 0.28%.   The rupee opened at 63.88 per USD.         0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992.
