Live Stock Market Updates - Sensex falls by over 250 points, Lupin declines by 17%

Nifty and Sensex fall sharp owing to decline in Pharma Sector. Nifty Pharma loses by 4%, dragged down by Lupin which declined by 17%.
At 2:00 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,468, down by 262 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,376down by 75 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 1.33% at 16,565.68 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 1.21% at 17,694.32.
HCL, TCS, Infosys, Zee Entertainment, and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas YES Bank, UPL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indian Oil, and Reliance are losing steam on NSE.
Some buying seen in IT, FMCG, and Teck sectors, whereas Energy, Telecom, Consumer Durables, and Oil & Gas sectors show weakness on the BSE.
The India Vix is up by 4.53% at 13.61.
Out of 1,974 stocks traded on the NSE, 437 advanced, 1215 declined, and 322 remained unchanged today.
A total of 115 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 19 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
Lupin shares fall over 16% on USFDA warning letter to 2 units, will lead to delay in product approvals.
ICICI Bank board approves selling stake in ICICI Securities via IPO.
Nifty Realty Index decline 1%. Unitech, DLF (-2%), Godrej Prop (-1%).
PSU Banks Index slips 2% on spike in govt bond yields. Indian Bank (-4%), PNB, Allahabad Bank (-3%), Bank of Baroda, Syndicate Bank (-2%).
Nifty IT Index gain over 2.5%. HCL Tech, Infofys (+3%), TCS (+2.5%), Tech Mahindra, KPIT (+2%).
Airline Companies stocks slump as crude oil hits 28-month high. SpiceJet (-3.5%), Jet Airways (-4%).
RCom inks pact with Veecon Media & TV to sell Reliance Big TV’s DTH operations across India. Stock up 1%.
