Live Stock Market Updates - Sensex, Nifty trade lower; Titan rises 13%

Nifty Downside

Nifty and Sensex trading on a choppy note, dragged down by the losses of several sectors including Finance, Telecom, Metals and Oil & Gas. Auto Sector tries to push market upwards with Tata Motors gaining by almost 2%. Consumer durables sector gains with Titan appreciating over 13%.

At 10:35 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,661, down by 24 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,439, down by 12 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up by 0.47% at 16,791.50, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.48% at 17,942.61.

Infratel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Aurobindo Pharma, Tata Motors, and ONGC are among the gainers, whereas Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, Indusland Bank, HPCL, and BPCL are losing steam on NSE.

Some buying seen in Auto, Reality and Consumer Durables sectors, whereas Energy, Finance, Telecom, Metals, and Oil & Gas sectors show weakness on the BSE.

The India Vix is up by 5.66% at 12.58.

Out of 1,997 stocks traded on the NSE, 88 advanced, 727 declined, and 389 remained unchanged today.

A total of 80 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Opening Bell - Markets open higher; Eicher Motors top Nifty gainer

At 9:15 AM, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 32 points at 31,694, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 28 points at 9,958 mark.   Eicher Motors is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 33,271.65 per share, up by 1.25% and Tata Power is top Nifty loser trading at Rs 77.05 per share, down by 0.39%. There are 957 advances, 424 declines and 459 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting mixed sentiments floating in the market.   On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index is trading at 15,846 level, up by 0.15% while BSE Small-cap index is trading at 16,384 level, up by 0.28%.   The rupee opened at 63.88 per USD.         0 Markets off day's high in late trades as indices fail to hold on to intraday gains. The 10,000 psychological mark is proving to act as a strong resistance zone for the Nifty. Bank Nifty too has lost ground; crucial support is now seen around 23,600 zone for Bank Nifty. Trump’s protectionist policies leading to the trade war scenario between US and China has negatively impacted major Asian indices. BSE Sensex toppled over 1% losing 400 points in the afternoon trade and is holding at 32,607. Nifty50 was down 121 points at 9,992.
