Nifty hovers around 10,150 mark

Benchmark indices recovered losses led by gains in shares of information technology and metal companies. Infosys stock jumped 4% after the company's board of directors appointed Salil Parekh as managing director and chief executive officer of the company.

Nifty IT Index was the top sectoral gainer today. Infosys, Mindtree (+4%), Tech Mahindra (+2%), HCL Tech (+1%).

At 1:41 PM, BSE Sensex rose 92 points to 32,925 and the NSE Nifty50 Index gained by 25 points to 10,148.

The BSE Mid-cap Index and BSE Small-cap Index were trading lower at 16,754 and 17,997 respectively.

Some buying was seen in IT, Metal, Media, FMCG, Auto and PSU bank, while Pharma and Pvt bank showed weakness on the NSE.

Infosys, Indiabulls HF, Zee, Tata Motors and Hindalco gained the most on Nifty50.

Coal India, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Infratel, UPL, RIL were the top losers.

India VIX up by 0.05% at 14.80 level.

Out of 2,012 stocks traded on the NSE, 775 advanced, 866 declined, and 371 remained unchanged today.

A total of 62 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 23 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Jubilant Life Sciences stock rallies 6% on green panel nod for Gujarat unit.

Nifty PSU Bank Index up nearly 1%. Canara Bank (+2%), Andhra Bank, PNB, Union Bank, IDBI Bank (+1%).
